First Responders Team Pickleball Tournament 🚨

Join us for a powerful day of competition, camaraderie, and community impact at the First Responders Team Pickleball Tournament at SMASH™ Pickleball.

This special event is built exclusively for Police, Fire, EMS, and Healthcare professionals — active or retired — who are ready to represent their department, compete alongside their teammates, and support charitable causes that matter to them.|

This isn’t just a tournament.
It’s team pride, friendly rivalry, and playing for a cause.


Event Details

Date: Saturday, May 9, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (subject to change)
Location: SMASH™ Pickleball – London, ON


Team Composition

Each team consists of:

Minimum 4 players (Maximum 6)
Minimum 2 Men
Minimum 2 Women

All players must be active or retired Police, Fire, EMS, or Hospital/Healthcare employees.

Every team-vs-team battle includes:

• Men’s Doubles
• Women’s Doubles
• Mixed Doubles #1
• Mixed Doubles #2

Each player competes in:

• One gender doubles match
• One mixed doubles match


Team Registration

• $300 per team
• $100 from each team’s registration will go directly to charity
• Each team must select a charity of their choice at the time of registration


Charity Prize Allocation

Charity funds raised will be distributed to the top teams:

🥇 Gold Team: 60%
🥈 Silver Team: 30%
🥉 Bronze Team: 10%

Example:
If the total charitable pool equals $1800:
🥇 Gold: $1,080
🥈 Silver: $540
🥉 Bronze: $320


Tournament Format

Pool Play + Knockout Bracket

• Games played to 11 points
• Regular scoring (win by 2)

Determining the Winner (Team Battle)
• The team that wins the most matches (minimum 3 out of 4) wins the round.
• If tied 2–2:
1. Overall point differential (Points For – Points Against)
2. If still tied, total points scored

POOL PLAY (min 18 Teams)
• Min 18 teams
• 4 teams per pool
• Round Robin format
• Each team plays 3 pool games

Advancement:
• Top 2 teams from each pool advance to Tier 1 single-elimination knockout bracket.
• Bottom 2 teams from each pool advance to Tier 2 single-elimination knockout bracket.

Pool Placement Criteria:
• Win/Loss Record
• Point Differential
• Total Points Scored

Qualification Round (Pool Play) – Match Rules
• Games are 12 minutes OR first to 11 points (win by 2), whichever comes first.
• Standard Pickleball Canada rules apply.
• No timeouts permitted.
• No switching sides.

Bracket Play – Knockout Round Format:
• Single Elimination
• One loss = elimination

Bracket Match Rules:
• 12 minutes OR first to 11 points (win by 2), whichever comes first.
• No timeouts permitted.
• No switching sides.

Championship Match
• Games played to 11 points, win by 2
• No time limit (subject to scheduling constraints)
